Abdul Rahman & Partners was honoured to be invited by PERNAS to conduct a high-level, specialised training session tailored to their Legal and Risk departments. The session centered on two critical aspects of corporate banking—security documents and recovery processes—designed to empower the teams with the legal expertise and practical insights needed to navigate complex financial and legal landscapes with confidence.
In the first segment, we delved deep into the various forms of securities available to PERNAS, including the facility agreement, legal charge, deed of assignment, debenture, and guarantees. The focus was on equipping the legal professionals with the necessary skills to effectively draft and execute these documents while ensuring compliance with the stringent legal requirements and safeguarding the bank’s interests.
The second part of the session was dedicated to recovery processes in the event of a facility default. We explored the legal steps involved in initiating recovery proceedings, executing enforcement actions, and mitigating risks associated with defaults. Emphasis was placed on the pivotal role of legal and risk teams in managing loss minimisation and ensuring that recovery efforts are legally sound and efficient.
To conclude the session on a high note, we facilitated an interactive Kahoot quiz, fostering a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. The quiz not only reinforced the concepts covered but also encouraged active participation, making the training experience both engaging and educational.
We are proud to have contributed to enhancing PERNAS’ legal and risk capabilities and look forward to future opportunities to support their teams in navigating the intricacies of corporate banking law. Together, we will continue to build a strong legal foundation to effectively manage financial risks and secure long-term success.
